I love taking road trips and I always feel a tinge of excitement when I see a state border sign. “Welcome to Utah, Life Elevated” or “New Mexico, the Land of Enchantment” for instance. Exploring other states, particularly in the West, is always fun for me. And travel by car enables me to bring bikes, a tent and painting gear.

But my favorite sign every time is “Welcome to Colorful Colorado”. It’s my home and my favorite state. It gets me right at the heart. And it captures the essence of my paintings.

My new solo exhibit at Portfolio Gallery aligns well with that sentiment too. The paintings are about the Colorado landscape and the ways we experience it as seen through my color lens. My hope is that you’ll see what’s special about Colorado the way I do.

The show is at Portfolio Gallery in Breckenridge and runs through February 21. There will be more paintings added to the show as we go, so check back again. You can see an online preview here.
