Four Wall Murals at Vectra Bank Corporate Building

Overview

Leslie completed four paintings for the new Vectra Bank Corporate Headquarters building in Denver, CO. The paintings represent the four seasons in colorado as seen through the lens of her mountain adventures. The paintings were reproduced at scale to create murals on the walls surrounding the interior conference rooms.

The project was part of a comprehensive art installation project by art consultants Liz Graham and Jennifer Perlow for the newly-built Vectra Bank Corporate Headquarters building at I-25 and Belleview Station in the Denver Tech Center.

My Take on the Four Seasons

Artist Statement

When I was asked to create paintings representing the four seasons, my response was: Well, that would be Ski season, Whitewater season, Hiking season and Biking seasons! The designers loved the idea and they really ran with the concept, adding a chair lift outside one of the rooms.

Winter is a painting of a skier at Silverton Mountain. Spring is a kayaker on the Arkansas River, near the artist's home in Salida, CO. Summer is a painting of a backpacker at Upper Cataract Lake near the Eagle's Nest Wilderness (photo inspiration by Noah Wetzel.) Fall is a mountain biker in Steamboat Springs (photo inspiration by Noah Wetzel and modeled by the artist's friend Trevor Greco.) In the background are topo map patterns with a red dotted trail line - all designed by the artist to visually lead you through the paintings as you walk along the corridors.

I included a design for a topo map background behind each painting. Inside the conference rooms, the topo maps continue and include elevation markers of the places depicted in the adventure paintings.
